Understand the Separation of Church and the State

The Philippine, is a country where most people are dominated of Catholic Church. This country also has the problem of political and religious differences.

Even if the Philippine Constitution state under Art. III, Bills of Right, sec. 5. of the 1987 constitution, Provide:

No Law shall be made respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. The free exercise and enjoyment of religious profession and worship, without discrimination or preference, shall forever be allowed. No religious shall be required for the exercise of civil or political rights.

Under the constitution there is a separation between the church and state. I don't understand those catholic priest always acts forcibly to manipulate the state.

The rationale of the rule is summed up in the familiar saying, "Strong fences make good neighbors." The idea is to delineate the boundaries between the two institutions and thus avoid encroachment by one against the other because of the misunderstanding of the limits of their respective exclusive jurisdictions. The demarcation line call on the entities "render therefore unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's and unto God the things are God's."

Read the preamble state; We, the sovereign Filipino people, imploring the aid of Almighty God, in order to build a just and human society and establish a government that shall embody our ideals and aspiration, promote the common good, conserve and develop our patrimony and secure to ourselves and our posterity the blessings of independent and democracy under the rule of law and a regime of truth, justice, freedom, love, equality and peace, do ordain and promulgate that constitution.

Under this phrase. There is no words that any priest was called to established a government but our Almighty God to help us. Those priest did not help in event that our country is struggling economy. Instead they help the government not to help those culprits to manipulate the government and implement their corrupt activities...

  1. As far as I can tell, from my understanding, there is only one place on earth wherein it is acceptable to have NO separation of Church and State. And that is in the Vatican City.

Because it is a sovereign city-state headed by the Pope himself (head of the Catholic Church), and 100% of its population is Roman Catholic.

Elsewhere, however, I expect there will always be a mixture of various religions, therefore there should definitely always be a separation of church and state to be fair to all the citizens of each country/state.
